IAI Dayton Lends Helping Hand to Veterans

DAYTON, OH – Dayton Integrity Applications Incorporated (IAI) Operations Director and former USAF Command Chief Michael P. Ronayne was recently selected to sit on a working group established to advise veterans on finding meaningful employment and to advise industry on hiring practices to help those who served find long term jobs in the Miami Valley. The working group is sponsored by Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley and consists of industry representatives from retail, city government, food and services, and local education institutions. The working group is called “Veterans and Employers’ Connection”

Mr. Ronayne adds: “The unemployment rate for veterans in the Dayton region is just over 13 percent. We owe it to those who have sacrificed so much to their nation to help with not just bringing those numbers down–we need to ensure our Vets are taking care of and live happy and prosperous lives after their service. Our Vets have so much to offer–specialized training, education, and a work ethic second to none. IAI is committed to our veterans and has a superb record of hiring former military members and active Reserve and Guard personnel.”

The working Group is chartered by Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley (GESMV), which taken the lead on trying to coordinate the efforts of multiple service agencies and employers who want to have a positive impact on reducing unemployment in the veteran population of the Greater Miami Valley. While GESMV has the lead, this effort extends to the entire community and hopefully will be to the benefit of veterans in a 23 county region across Ohio and parts of Indiana. Some of the initiatives includes one-on-one mentoring to vet job hunters, specialized training for employers to aid in understanding the veterans’ needs and how to apply skills, job fairs, and transition assistance support.
