Over the Labor Day weekend, four men, including IAI Chairman and CEO Joe Brickey and IAI COO Bill Jugus, participated in a 48-state road trip to help raise money for Alabama public schools. Sand Mountain Toyota of Boaz, Alabama sponsored the road trip and donated a Toyota Sequoia for the men to use.
The Ready to Roll Road Trip team started their journey in Vermont on Thursday, September 3. The team drove continuously for the next 104 hours and 14 minutes stopping only for gas. They arrived in Four Corners, USA, on Monday, September 7, after having touched all 48 continental states. All told, the team travelled 7,037 miles averaging 67.5 miles per hour.
IAI employees were among the many who followed the team’s adventures online and contributed to the fundraiser’s success. Fox5 News, 2 radio stations in Alabama and other local media outlets also following the team’s journey. IAI and its employees donated almost $4,500 in support of Alabama public schools and the Ready to Roll Road Trip team representing more than half of the total funds raised.
